The Research Laboratory for Precision and Nano Processing Technology was founded in 1994 under the support of the University of Sydney and the Australian Research Council. The primary aim of the Laboratory is to promote the leading research on precision fabrication and nanotechnology. The Laboratory is equipped with world-class facilities in its research area such as nano-mechanics, nano-tribology, materials characterization, nano/micro fabrication, solid mechanics and precision manufacturing. The research team has established its international reputation and has had active research collaborations with over 20 institutions worldwide. The Laboratory has organized many international conferences in its research area and hosted many scholars for both long-term collaborations and short-term visits.
